The depth at the shortstop position has created a log jam at the higher levels of the farm. At this point, it may force one or two shortstops to be open to change and for Matt Bouchard, that change looks likely in 2009. Though he possesses strong skills at the position, Bouchard is open to alternatives and the benefits that come with them.
