Syracuse has little trouble with longtime rival West Virginia in the third-annual Pinstripe Bowl

Syracuse's second trip to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium went a little differently than their first time around.

Instead of needing late-game heroics, it was all Orange to start, giving them an early lead off of a field goal by kicker Ross Krautman, followed by a safety and a rushing touchdown immediately after by running back Prince-Tyson Gulley to put Syracuse ahead 12-0.

The Orange defense did not allow the Mountaineers to score until 3:38 left in the first half, when Mountaineers' quarterback Geno Smith connected with wide receiver Stedman Bailey for a 32-yard touchdown.

At the break, Syracuse led in the "Snow Bowl", 12-7.

Coming out of the locker room, the Orange once again were the first to the scoreboard. In total, Syracuse had three touchdowns to go with another safety, when Smith intentionally grounded the ball while in his own end zone.

Bailey's second touchdown of the match from Smith gave the Mountaineers a three-touchdown deficit going into the final quarter.

Syracuse became friends with the clock in the final quarter, taking opportunities away from West Virginia.

Krautman put his second field goal attempt of the game through the uprights to give the Orange their largest lead of the game, 24, with the Orange advantage rising to 38-14.

That score would remain as the Orange outdue themselves from their 36-34 win in 2010 to command the victory over their familiar foe.
