Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy center Sylvester Ogbonda is someone with a ton of potential. The 6-foot-11 big man runs the floor well, can rebound, and has a nice touch out to the mid-range. He is still putting it all together, but every time he steps on the floor Ogbonda shows improvement.
“I am just continuing to work to clean up my game with better post moves and also get stronger and rebound better,” said Ogbonda.
He continued, “I have been watching a lot of videos on how to play in the post so I think that is my strength.”
At this point the three-star prospect isn't too focused on his recruitment.
“I am interested in Syracuse,” said Ogbonda. “I have talked to some people from Syracuse, but right now I know Boston College, and a few other schools.”
There is one school he has visited, and that is the local Maryland Terrapins.
“I went to Maryland for their Midnight Madness and I love the school,” said Ogbonda. “Alex Len is a really good player. It is a school I would like to see in the future.”
For now though the focus for Ogbonda isn't recruiting. He is letting other people deal with that. Instead he is really working on his game, and one of the many areas he has really been focusing on is his free throw shooting.
“I have been working hard on my free throws,” said Ogbonda. “I know as a big man I will get fouled a lot so that is an area of great improvement for me.”
Ogbonda is the No. 8 ranked center in the class of 2015 and someone who is working hard to continue to improve as he hasn’t been playing organized basketball very long.
