John Johnson Leaving Pitt

For a second year in a row, another Pitt player has left the program prior to the start of Big East season.

John Johnson, a sophomore guard, has decided to leave the Pitt program. The school has not commented yet, but head coach Jamie Dixon will likely address it after tonight's game with Fordham.

Johnson played in all 39 games as a true freshman. He averaged 14.5 minutes in the Panthers' two exhibition games, then did not play in the Panthers' opening win over Mt. St. Mary's on Friday.

Freshman guard James Robinson has started both regular season games, and both exhibition games. Also, Trey Zeigler transferred in from Central Michigan, and despite not starting, averaged 15.5 minutes in the two exhibitions, and eight minutes tonight.

We expect to have more reaction on this breaking story after the game. Recommended Stories
